Anna McLaren MACM MBCMA

I began my career as a zoologist, then, in my early 20s, a back injury led me to discover the McTimoney technique (a gentle and holistic form of bodywork on which Classical Manipulation is based) and I was inspired to change direction. After graduating from the McTimoney College in 1997, I built up a busy practice in Bath and returned to the college as a techniques instructor and clinic supervisor.
During this time I developed an interest in energy medicine and in 2003 I took a year’s sabbatical to study bioenergy healing in Israel. Since returning to England I have found that this training has enhanced my Classical Manipulation treatment with a deeper awareness of the interaction between mind and body and has enabled me to bring a greater sense of intuitive touch to my work. I have also developed a treatment based on bioenergy techniques that I practice alongside Classical Manipulation (please see www.amba-healing.co.uk for details).

I am currently practising Classical Manipulation in Warmley, Bristol. I also run workshops in back care and bioenergy healing, and teach Anatomy and Physiology at Earthworks School for the Healing Arts. I am fully insured and registered with the British Complementary Medicine Association, the British Complementary Therapies Council and the Association for Classical Manipulation, of which I am currently Chair.
